One misty, moisty morning when cloudy was the weather, I met a friendly traveler wrapped in wool and feather. We greeted one another on the quiet country way, Then watched the silver raindrops welcome in the day.

Rub-a-dub-dub, three friends in a tub, Floating down the stream. They waved to the ducks and sang to the frogs, As merry as a dream.

To market, to market, with baskets in hand, Past colorful stalls and the bright music stand. Home again, home again, walking with care, With apples and flowers and good things to share.

Monday's child is bright and kind, Tuesday's child has much to find. Every child, on every day, Brings a special light to play.

The grand old Duke of York had a merry band. He marched them up the hill with music bright and grand. And when they reached the top, they viewed the world below, Then marched back down together in a cheerful row.

There was a kind old woman who lived in a shoe, With windows of yellow and a bright door of blue. She filled it with stories and warm bowls of stew, Then tucked everyone in when the evening wind blew.

The Queen of Hearts made tarts one sunny day. She placed them on the table in a lovely display. The court came together when the baking was done, And shared every tart till there wasn't left one.

Lucy Locket lost her pocket, Kitty helped her look. They searched beside the garden wall and underneath a book. At last they found the pocket with its ribbon tied just right, And skipped back home together in the warm afternoon light.

Oranges and lemons, bright yellow and gold, Near the ringing city bells and market streets of old. Baskets full of color travel up and down the lane, While friendly bells make music, then begin the song again.
